CSC148H: Quickstart Guide

Here are the steps you should take to get ready for this course.

  1. Make sure you have solid introductory programming skills to the level provided by CSC108H.
  2. If you did not take CSC108H, read the introduction to the computer labs for new students. Pay particular attention to the "What do you need?" section, although that whole document is chock-full of information that will make your CSC148H life easier. Most important: make sure you can log in to CDF, the undergraduate lab.
  3. If you do not know Python (but you know how to program), sign up for a free ramp-up session. The link will be posted here soon. (If you took CSC108H and feel that you need a refresher, you are welcome to sign up!)
  4. Read the course information sheet
  5. If you want to work on your own computer, make sure you have Python 2.7 installed. (Python 3 is not compatible.)
  6. Once you have done all the previous steps, Read all the information on this website.
