Announcements/Updates

You should always check the "Course Announcements" on the Course Bulletin Board for updates, as it may be more up-to-date and detailed.

August 31: Final course grades have been submited to Arts & Science and they should show up on ROSI any day now (at least, in theory). Have a great long weekend and best of luck in the Fall!

August 25: A4 marks were emailed out earlier and updated coursework marks (A1, A2, A3, A4, labs, and the midterm) are now on CDF.

August 24: A4 marks are delayed, but I'd still like to get the final grades to people who want them tomorrow. Therefore:

I'll post updates when each of these steps occurs.

August 24: Murphy's Law has struck: technical issues have delayed the assembly and emailing of A4 grades. This will probably delay the submission of the grades to ROSI so that there is an appropriate amount of time to deal with A4 remark requests. More updates to follow later this morning.

August 21: I'm unfortunately too ill to hold office hours on Thursday - if there's anything, email me instead.

August 20: The Faculty is pretty strict about instructors not posting final marks, so I will be submitting them at the end of this week (which is early) so that they can be checked on ROSI. This means that I'd like to hear about (reasonable) A4 remark requests very quickly, because if a late remark affects an already-submitted grade, there's an annoying amount of paperwork to change it.

Complete A4 marks should be available by late Wednesday. If you have a reasonable remark request, I will be holding office hours on Thursday (August 24), 4-6, in BA3234. Failing that, email me on Thursday. I will be submitting the final grades on Friday morning to ROSI. Changing the grades after that is possible but I'd prefer to deal with issues before that, so contact me ASAP if there appears to be something wrong with your A4 marking.

August 15: Current grades for the course are now available on CDF via secure login. These grades are: A1, A2, A3, labs, and the midterm. You should double-check that these grades are correct, and come see me in office hours if they are not.

August 13: Office hours for this week will be as follows: UPDATED August 14

TAs can answer questions about course material and previous exams but will not be answering questions about grades or marking - any remark requests or questions about assignment marking should be directed to me (Noah) at my office hours instead.

August 7: We'll be doing a lot in this week's (final) class:

August 2: The complete grading results for A3 have been sent your CDF accounts. In addition, the marking materials are available on the assignments page.

August 1:

July 20:

July 10:

July 4: Office hours tomorrow from 6-7 are cancelled. If you wanted to speak to me during that period, email me and we can set up an appointment. Office hours from 2-4 will still happen, as usual.

June 30: Week 7 lecture materials posted.

June 29: Assignment 3 has been posted on the Assignments page. The deadline has been moved back to Friday, July 14.

June 23 UPDATE: extra office hours next week have changed to Tuesday June 27, 4-6, in BA4290. This is the regular lab time for Tuesdays, so hopefully this works with more peoples' schedules.

June 22:

June 21: Assignment 1 grading results have been emailed to your CDF accounts. The test class used for automarking, as well as a full marking scheme, are available on the Assignments page. UPDATE: if you didn't receive the email, double-check that your email forwarding is set up (as described in the first lab), then email me and I'll re-send the message.

June 7: Week 4 lecture materials and A2 posted.

June 5: There is an A1 clarification and, correspondingly, a 12-hour extension. Details are on the bulletin board.

June 2: See this post on the Message Board for some information about the instanceof operator.

June 2: Lecture files from Week 3 are now available. For next week, find the error in CircularQueue.size().

May 31: Assignment submission instructions are now on the Assignments page.

May 25: Revised (less abstract) lecture materials from Week 2 are now available.

May 24: The course textbook, "Data Structures and the Java Collections Framework", is now in stock at the bookstore.

May 23: Assignment 1 now available on the Assignments page.

May 21: Week 1 lecture materials now complete (with slides) on the Lectures page.

May 19: Lab room assignments are now posted on the Labs page.
